Thin Set Installation Instructions

1. Determine the Installation Location

Select the desired location on the shower wall, bathtub surround, or bathroom wall. Position the mini soap dish at a convenient height and location for everyday use. If using it as a foot rest for shaving legs, consider the placement and height carefully before installation.

2. Prepare the Wall Surface

Make sure the installation surface is suitable for thin set mortar and is clean, dry, solid, and free of dust, loose material, grease, or debris. Follow the requirements of the thin set mortar manufacturer and the applicable shower or bathroom installation system.

3. Apply Thin Set Mortar

Apply an appropriate thin set mortar to the back of the ceramic soap dish according to the mortar manufacturer's installation instructions. Make sure sufficient mortar is applied around the rear mounting area and the two openings in the back of the soap dish.

4. Press the Soap Dish Into Position

Firmly press the soap dish against the prepared cement board or cement wall surface. Hold it securely in position and make sure it is properly aligned with the surrounding tile layout. The thin set should make solid contact with the back of the soap dish and build into the two rear openings to help secure the accessory.

5. Allow the Thin Set to Cure

Allow the thin set mortar to cure according to the mortar manufacturer's recommended cure time before applying grout or placing the soap dish into regular use.

6. Complete the Tile and Grout Installation

Install the surrounding tile and finish the joints around the ceramic soap dish with appropriate grout. Remove excess mortar or grout from the ceramic surface before it fully cures, following the recommendations of the material manufacturers.
